EI Canada avoiding unemployment calls and claims

Anyone in Canada lately dealing with filing and claiming EI unemployment benefits have experienced a cold shoulder. Calls to either EI telephone number continually result in a recorded message saying that the call volume is too high to take your call. After calling the EI telephone reporting number multiple times, I eventually was "placed in sequence", and then a separate message came on saying that due to "circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to take your call". Then shortly after, I placed another call, and was put back in "sequence", and then got another recorded message saying that "all the agents are busy, and unable to take your call". And of course, the default action on all EI numbers is to disconnect you if no one can take your call. However, my experience is not the only one. An article posted today in The Province states:

When filing an online EI report these days, sometimes you will get a "warning" and are told to call a 1-800 number during "office hours."
When you call this number, you hear: "At the moment our call volume is high, we are unable to transfer your call, please try later."
I have called this number at least a hundred times over three weeks and still cannot get through. Will I be denied my benefits with this latest government strategy?

This is not the only example of this. A report from CBC today also details this new strategy.

EI delay leads to shotgun incident

A long wait for Employment Insurance led a P.E.I. man to threaten the safety of himself and others with a shotgun last month, says his lawyer.

P.E.I. defence lawyer Trish Cheverie defended the Kensington man in court Thursday.

Cheverie told CBC News her client was so distraught about not being able to make his rent that he grabbed a 12-gauge shotgun and began threatening himself and others in his home. Then he locked himself in a bedroom.

The incident happened on Dec. 7. The man pleaded guilty Thursday to possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. Two other charges were stayed.

Cheverie said her client, who had no criminal record, had been waiting two months for his employment insurance claim to come in.

"The expectations are that when people apply for Employment Insurance, they are entitled to that. That is their money," said Cheverie.

"I just am astonished at the lack of compassion. You know, there is a necessity for these claims to be processed more quickly, and the complaints are met with silence. This is the consequence, very serious consequences for people that can't afford to support and provide for their families without EI."

Tens of thousands of Canadians are experiencing delays in having their EI applications processed, and the Public Service Alliance has been told there is no budget for overtime. The wait for almost 90,000 Canadians is at least 100 days.

Emotional breakdown

Cheverie said her client had given up drinking 20 years ago but had an emotional breakdown after bills started to mount. She is also frustrated her client had difficulties accessing mental health care after the incident.

The man was given a suspended sentence. He will be on probation for 12 months and is prohibited from owning a weapon for five years.

Some waiting for EI looking to social assistance

Many Islanders have been waiting for weeks for their employment insurance claims to be processed and some have decided they can't wait any longer and have been looking for social assistance.

Several people waiting for EI have told CBC News that they've actually been told by Service Canada agents that they should consider applying for social assistance until their EI comes in.

EI is a federal program; the province runs social assistance.

No one with the province was willing to do an interview Wednesday, but a spokesperson said the government is getting enquiries from people waiting for their EI. But there hasn't been a spike in the number of applications.

The wait for EI is supposed to be no more than four weeks.

CBC News talked to one man who's been waiting two and a half months.

Toff Curtis said he was finally ready a couple days ago to consider social assistance.

"I have two little girls, we had an OK Christmas, it wasn't the greatest," Curtis said. "My oldest daughter went to school the first day and they were discussing what they got for Christmas ... and all she could say was that she got some books and a few other little things."

"How do you think that made me feel?" Curtis added, visibly upset.

Curtis was told by Service Canada he should have a decision on his EI application Thursday, so he's held off on applying for social assistance.

"When I was a child, we were on social assistance most of my life, I felt like a second-class citizen, and I never wanted my children to be on it," he said. "That's how bad things have gotten."

The provincial government did say most people waiting for EI wouldn't actually qualify for welfare, at least not until they'd exhausted all their assets.

However, anyone who did get social assistance would have to pay the money back, once their EI finally comes in.

Hundreds of thousands of unemployed Canadians are waiting for the federal government to process their claims for employment insurance – a queue that newly released documents show has doubled since 2007 as Services Canada reduces its staff.

In October of 2007, there were 181,931 people waiting for their claims to be processed, according to documents obtained by The Globe and Mail using federal Access to Information legislation. By October of this year, that number had climbed to 360,481 – and according to past seasonal trends, is likely to be higher now.

Growth in the waiting list for benefits parallels a decline in temporary and permanent staff in the processing centres, with numbers 13 per cent lower than in October, 2007. Hundreds of additional processing agents were hired during the economic downturn of 2008 and 2009 but those people, and others, have since been let go or left without being replaced.

The result has been a system in turmoil, as documented in a series of Globe stories over the past two months. Unemployed people are unable to get through by telephone to find out what is delaying their benefits. The newly released documents reveal wild fluctuations in temporary staff at Service Canada’s call centres where the phone lines as so jammed that just one in three calls is answered.

Many of the unemployed are turning up at Service Canada centres instead and are extremely frustrated. Service Canada workers in a number of cities are reporting receiving threats of violence.

One woman who waited for months for an answer is Lorena Delim, a health-care aide who went on maternity leave a year ago when her son was born. The baby died in August – a tragedy Ms. Delim cannot bring herself to discuss even four months later.

She immediately told Service Canada that the boy had passed away. Because of her fragile emotional state, she was advised to convert some of the remaining months of her maternity leave to disability leave.

Weeks later, she had received no cheque for the period after the baby’s death but she did get a letter from Service Canada telling her she had to pay back more than $500 in benefits.

Ms. Delim tried repeatedly to telephone a government agent to set things straight but could not get past the message machines. More than once she went into the local Service Canada centre in an attempt to resolve the issue. “They e-mailed for the processing centre to call me back but I never heard from them again,” she said in a telephone interview.

Ms. Delim eventually turned to Winnipeg’s Unemployed Help Centre to see if the staff there could get through to Service Canada on her behalf. In the week before Christmas – three weeks after she had returned to her job – she was finally told she would be getting benefits for September and October.

Although the number of people who, like Ms. Delim, are waiting has spiked in 2011, the 248,659 EI claims filed in October were about the same as in Octobers past, the documents obtained by The Globe show.

The documents did not give figures for November and December of 2011. But the records show that the number of Canadians waiting for their first benefits cheque annually jumps by as much as 100,000 during those months as a result of seasonal fluctuations. So the real number of unemployed Canadians currently waiting for their first EI payment could be approaching 500,000.

In response to questions from The Globe, the Human Resources Department said it works to “maintain a flexible and sustainable workforce capacity comprising both permanent and temporary employees, working on a full- or part-time basis.”

Human Resources Minister Diane Finley says fewer people are needed because her department is moving to a more automated system.

But Service Canada workers point out that the system became automated four years ago. And they say the depletion of their ranks means any claim that requires human intervention is taking additional weeks and even months to process.

“I liken this to a ticking time bomb,” says Neil Cohen, the executive director of the Community Unemployed Help Centre in Winnipeg.

“We have clients who are dealing with depression issues who have talked about suicide and those threats have to be taken seriously [as do] threats of violence against Service Canada workers,” Mr. Cohen said. “The federal government has just ignored the problem.”

Vaccine and drug giant GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has been fined 400,000 pesos (around the equivalent of $93,000) by an Argentinian judge for killing 14 babies during illegal lab vaccine trials that were conducted between 2007 and 2008. In addition to killing the children and experimenting with human beings, the judge asserted that the corporation actually falsified parental authorizations so that babies could participate without legitimate parental permission.

Judge Marcelo Aguinsky made the decision after a report was released on the subject by the National Administration of Medicine, Food and Technology (ANMAT in Spanish). Since 2007, 15,000 children below the age of one from Mendoza, San Juan, and Santiago del Estero have been participating in the illegal research. These babies were recruited by GSK from poor families that attended public hospitals. It was found that of the 14 baby deaths, 7 died in Santiago del Estero; 5 in Mendoza; and 2 in San Juan.

GSK Recruited Doctors, Pressured Illiterate Parents into Signing Over Children

Currently, it is unknown how many babies suffered serious side effects, adverse reactions, or if this is truly the total death count. As with many other vaccinations such as Gardasil, the official death count continues to rise as leaked reports from the FDA and elsewhere continue to surface.

One pediatrician working at the public hospital when GSK began recruiting babies for their illegal human trials said that not only did GSK force illiterate parents into handing over their children, but they also ‘recruited’ several doctors working at the hospital into their cause.

Ana Marchese, a pediatrician at the Eva Perón children’s public hospital in Santiago del Estero, stated:

“GSK Argentina set an protocol at the hospital, and recruited several doctors working there. These doctors took advantage of many illiterate parents whom take their children for treatment by pressuring and forcing them into signing these 28-page consent forms and getting them involved in the trials.”

It is quite clear that GSK has zero regard for human health, morals, and will go to any length to experiment with their latest jab regardless of the casualties. Of the 15,000 babies that were reported to be a part of the illegal trials, many may suffer from life-altering illness and serious side effects. Amazingly, many parents had no idea they were signing over the lives of their children to GSK, as they were completely illiterate. Meanwhile, GSK sells their latest shots and pharmaceutical drugs to United States consumers, raking in record profits each year as the second-largest drugmaker.

Sadly, many young boys and girls have been crippled after taking the Gardasil shots, left to live the rest of their life severly handicapped in wheelchairs. Even worse, in some cases, young girls have even died shortly after recieving the HPV vaccine. Hypocritically, Health Canada stipulates in "Fair Balance in Direct-to-Consumer Advertising of Vaccines", they admit

Advertising which emphasizes only positive features of a health product while ignoring or minimizing significant negative findings is not acceptable."

A group of 83 Internet inventors and prominent engineers sent an open letter today to the members of the United States Congress, stating their opposition to the SOPA and PIPA Internet blacklist bills that are under consideration in the House and Senate respectively.

We, the undersigned, have played various parts in building a network called the Internet. We wrote and debugged the software; we defined the standards and protocols that talk over that network. Many of us invented parts of it. We're just a little proud of the social and economic benefits that our project, the Internet, has brought with it.
Last year, many of us wrote to you and your colleagues to warn about the proposed "COICA" copyright and censorship legislation. Today, we are writing again to reiterate our concerns about the SOPA and PIPA derivatives of last year's bill, that are under consideration in the House and Senate. In many respects, these proposals are worse than the one we were alarmed to read last year.

If enacted, either of these bills will create an environment of tremendous fear and uncertainty for technological innovation, and seriously harm the credibility of the United States in its role as a steward of key Internet infrastructure. Regardless of recent amendments to SOPA, both bills will risk fragmenting the Internet's global domain name system (DNS) and have other capricious technical consequences. In exchange for this, such legislation would engender censorship that will simultaneously be circumvented by deliberate infringers while hampering innocent parties' right and ability to communicate and express themselves online.

All censorship schemes impact speech beyond the category they were intended to restrict, but these bills are particularly egregious in that regard because they cause entire domains to vanish from the Web, not just infringing pages or files. Worse, an incredible range of useful, law-abiding sites can be blacklisted under these proposals. In fact, it seems that this has already begun to happen under the nascent DHS/ICE seizures program.
Censorship of Internet infrastructure will inevitably cause network errors and security problems. This is true in China, Iran and other countries that censor the network today; it will be just as true of American censorship. It is also true regardless of whether censorship is implemented via the DNS, proxies, firewalls, or any other method. Types of network errors and insecurity that we wrestle with today will become more widespread, and will affect sites other than those blacklisted by the American government.
The current bills — SOPA explicitly and PIPA implicitly — also threaten engineers who build Internet systems or offer services that are not readily and automatically compliant with censorship actions by the U.S. government. When we designed the Internet the first time, our priorities were reliability, robustness and minimizing central points of failure or control. We are alarmed that Congress is so close to mandating censorship-compliance as a design requirement for new Internet innovations. This can only damage the security of the network, and give authoritarian governments more power over what their citizens can read and publish.
The US government has regularly claimed that it supports a free and open Internet, both domestically and abroad. We cannot have a free and open Internet unless its naming and routing systems sit above the political concerns and objectives of any one government or industry. To date, the leading role the US has played in this infrastructure has been fairly uncontroversial because America is seen as a trustworthy arbiter and a neutral bastion of free expression. If the US begins to use its central position in the network for censorship that advances its political and economic agenda, the consequences will be far-reaching and destructive.

We have seen a program of policies lead by the United Nations, NATO and the United States against countries deemed to be a threat to global security or are guilty of civil and human rights abuses. Step 3: When threats fail, use the United Nations Security Council and NATO to engage in trade embargos against the target country.

Step 4: Trade embargos will fail to fullfil the UN and NATO requests. Establish and enforce No fly zones over the target country.

Step 5: No-fly zones will fail to fullfil the UN and NATO requests. Engage "kinnetic peace action" indescriminate bombing operations. Use peacekeeping forces, intellegence agents and assist al-cia-duh forces to carry out UN NATO requests. (This probably means eliminating the ruler of the target counntry.

My educated guess is, the situation in Iran and the middle east will follow this script right into a perfect storm that erupts into world war three. Lets hope this does not happen.

Private bankers have taken over the world

The last decade has been a severe whirlwind of unfathomable occurrences. This agenda of global takeover by a private banking cartel under the framework of World Government has progressed rapidly through the ages. It may be hard to pin point the start of this global banking cartel, however we will look at the period from 1815-2011.

By the year of 1815, world powers had risen to a new level. The American revolution in 1776 was a bold stand against the British Royal Crown, created a new constitutional republic that would effectively challenge the old world order cabal. The monopolistic British Empire now had a new enemy to face. This moved the British Crown to wage war on the new Republic of America. An agenda of undermining the US constitution and its founding fathers and principals was launched. By 1815, the Rothschild banking empire had become a powerful force in the world economy, and had amassed a large portfolio of gold, silver, and property. Rothschild even had gained the support of loyal employees who had developed what could be called one of the first intelligence agencies. The battle of Waterloo against Napoleon seemed to going in favor of Napoleon. Nathan Rothschild had a courier watching the war and witnessed the British victory over Napoleon. Bringing this report back to Rothschild, who used this knowledge to sell his stock claiming the British had lost was able to bring the stock market to rock bottom. He then bought back the stocks and the majority of the market and economy of England before the people were aware of the scam. Rothschild now controlled England.

Now we move along to the year 1913. Following years of Rothschild and private banking insisting on private central banking in the United States of America, a cabal of private bankers, associates of the Rothschild banking Empire such as JP Morgan and Paul Warburg met in secret on Jekyll Island in a closed door meeting and planned for the creation of a private central bank called the Federal Reserve System. Using their power and influence, this banking cartel were able to get a minimum number of Congressmen to pass the unconstitutional Federal Reserve Act of 1913. The United States of America now had a Rothschild controlled private central bank.

In the years following 1913, the globalist banking cabal unconstitutionally pushed for independence and deregulation. With the power to print money with no physical intrinsic value, predatory lending, fractional reserve banking and over leveraged derivative banking lead to the state of affairs we are now seeing. Opposition to the Federal Reserve System has been squashed, as seen at its pinnacle when Kennedy was shot. Reversal and overturning of the Glass–Steagall Act by the Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act of 1999 and Brettonwoods lead to further deregulation of the banking system.

From the crash of 2008, when the private bankers threatened congress with Martial Law, this global banking cabal is grabbing firm hold over control of the world. The revolving door of politics and corporate power tied to the top of the Bilderberg group, the Council on Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission and mega banks. Hand in hand with the Rothschild Council on Foreign Relations creation now known as the United Nations along with the full support of the Vatican have worked towards creating the World Government they call the New World Order.

The IMF and World Bank along with Goldman Sachs are the power banking operations of this World Government. The elected constitutional system of government has been overthrown by this cabal. Presidents serve the global banking cabal, Congress tows to the power banking cabal, the media bends to the private banking cartel. These entities are used as puppets by the private banking cabal to further their agenda. Their power and influence is used to suppress opposition to the takeover and present solutions which satisfy the banking cabals needs. A Super Congress has unconstitutionally removed the power of Congress in order to fast track bills via the banking cabals control of the Presidency. The private banking cabal use the office of the Presidency and congress to install their selected officials to run their power positions, such as the Head of the Federal Reserve or the Treasury Secretary.

This banking cabal has full control over the American Federal government and is able to ensure that their system will continue to operate regardless of law under CoG. This banking cabal since 2008 has engaged in massive financial crime, fraud and insider trading with relentless impunity. Using control of Congress, they have given themselves trillions of dollars in bonuses and bailouts, at the taxpayers expense. By changing deregulation laws, the Federal Reserve even doled out trillions in secret bailouts and bonuses to private companies and countries. A few of these mega banks even were involved in billions of dollars of drug money through Mexican drug cartels. Mega banks such as Bank of America have been found guilty of foreclosing homes that were fully paid and did not even hold title to. Futures traders such as MF Global stole over $1.2 billion from gold futures accounts, even telling customers that they would need to give them even more money if they wanted to get any of their money back. All of this crime and fraud committed by the banking cabal are continually using their convenient "get out of jail free" card.

Now the Trilateral Commission Goldman Sachs empire has installed their man in as the Prime Minister of Greece in "Super Mario" Monty.

Even the Vatican is now making their yearly call for a New World Order and World Government under IMF / World Bank United Nations control.

And as the EU just showed us, this is the same World Government banking cabal that tells us that water does not prevent dehydration, that vitamins are bad, humans are bad, choosing your own food is bad, breathing and farting are bad, and that the sun does not create heat and weather.

The Banking cabals World Government is full out in the open. They are funding an oppressive police state in order to protect themselves under CoG as they bring the world to flames and ruins. NYC terror suspect was handled by NYPD informants

Shortly after the arrest, mainstream news tried to paint the suspect as being inspired by Alex Jones film "The Obama Deception" Of course, if you want to believe that, just watch the film yourself and you'll see how this claim is unfounded. Now a recent New York Times article states a NYPD informant lived with the suspect and talked with him about the details of the plot. As the article alludes to, the FBI has admitted to aiding and abetting terror suspects in so called sting operations across the country, such as the Portland Christmas tree "bomber" was handled by the FBI and even given materials needed to pull off the plot, or as former FBI informant, Mr Saleem, released recorded conversations with his FBI bosses where the FBI gave the materials to the cell that carried out the 1993 World Trade Center. (Reported in the New York Times).

This new article hides the light of truth in this sentence:

"Mr. Pimentel was secretly recorded and videotaped by the informant discussing the plot and assembling the components for the pipe bombs, according to court papers"

Ministry calls for media network to censor extremist comment on Web media
Russia's Communications Ministry is to discuss proposals on Thursday for ways to speed up the process of deleting offensive and extremist user comments from online media pages.

Sergei Zheleznyak, who heads the information policy committee in the State Duma, the lower chamber of the Russian parliament, said a special state-run network of all Russian online media should be set up to quickly inform moderators and editors about offensive and extremist content detected on their websites.

"Such a database will enable [Russian telecoms regulator] Roskomnadzor to control users' comments on the Internet and inform online media about extremists or offensive comments on their material," Zheleznyak said.

The initiative is part of a drive by the ministry's Council for Internet and New Media to fulfil President Medvedev's instruction for better legislation on accountability of Internet media for user comment posted on its pages. The ministry has to present its proposals by August 1.
The proposed amendments, if adopted, would not affect bloggers and social networking sites.
"They [the proposals] will affect only online media, whose activities fall under the law on the media," Zheleznyak said.

An online service of this type may be launched next year. It would also enable users to lodge complaints about comments that they find offensive.

Zheleznyak said proposals have been made to cut from three days to 24 hours the period in which media must delete an offensive comment or face litigation.

Will Russia's Bloggers Survive Censorship Push?

With so many of their media sources controlled by the state or government-friendly oligarchs, Russians have turned to their bloggers to keep informed and give voice to their grievances and concerns. But many of those in power are now seeking to impose rigid limits on online freedom.

One sunny June day in California, Rustem Adagamov was rushing without his glasses on when he literally ran into Russia's president. "I simply didn't see Dmitry Medvedev," Russia's most influential blogger says, "and I bumped right into him."

Adagamov, 48, uses his blog to report on a range of grievances, including the arrests of opposition members and "unparalleled police brutality." Each day, his blog gets around 600,000 page views, making it more widely read than many of Moscow's daily newspapers. Adagamov has even made fun of Medvedev on his blog by posting photographs of cups bearing the portraits of Medvedev and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and the caption "They all lie anyway" printed in bold.

Acts like these make it all the more astonishing that Medvedev agreed to submit to an interview with the Kremlin critic. And that's not all: The president also invited Adagamov to accompany him to California for a meeting with Steve Jobs, the CEO of Apple.

Medvedev, 44, is an avowed fan of the Internet, writes his own blog and uses Twitter. The president, for example, recently wrote an article -- entitled "Forward, Russia!" -- that garnered global attention for its ruthless analysis of Russia's economic backwardness. But instead of distributing it via a government newspaper or state-run television, he had it published on Gazeta.ru, Russia's best-known online newspaper. And, just last week, Medvedev halted a controversial highway construction project near Moscow via video blog.

Although Medvedev calls for "openness at all levels" from his government and Russian authorities, many among the country's power elite view this as taking things a bit too far -- especially when it comes to the Internet. Medvedev's own chief of staff, Sergei Naryshkin, recently called a meeting in response to a writer at Gazeta.ru who had laid into Putin and Medvedev because she was upset about how their motorcades were blocking traffic.

Russia at the IT Crossroads

The FSB, Russia's domestic intelligence agency, wants to force Internet service providers to remove undesirable websites. A law also requires these providers to install hardware at their own expense that allows the FSB -- with a judge's authorization -- to keep track of the websites people visit and the e-mails they write.

Some service providers have even started proactively censoring users themselves. Companies such as Scartel, for example, block portals belonging to Kremlin critics, including former world chess champion Garry Kasparov.

In this battle over the Internet, there are two camps. The issue is about the future course Russia will take and about how much freedom it will allow its 142 million citizens. Some believe Russia should take its cue from the liberal West. But others think it should follow more in the footsteps of authoritarian regimes like China, which is trying as hard as it can to control the Internet -- and, with it, its citizens.

For his part, Medvedev sees information technology as the "key to the development of democracy" and the Internet as the "most important resource" in reaching his primary goal: modernizing his massive nation.

Where Google Is Not King

Russia's Internet companies have been playing a prominent role in this process. They've been able to stave off foreign competition so far and, lately, they've even started expanding into the West. This April, the investment company Digital Sky Technologies (DST) -- owned by start-up investor Yuri Milner and gas and metal magnate Alisher Usmanov -- increased its share in Facebook to 10 percent and purchased the ICQ instant-messaging system from the American company AOL for $188 million (€148 million). ICQ has over 40 million active users, many of whom are in the West.

Hammocks and bowls of fresh fruit lend a touch of Silicon Valley to the open-plan offices of Yandex, Russia's champion among search engines. "We respect Google," says Yelena Kolmanovskaya, who co-founded the company 13 years ago, "but we're simply better." Today, Yandex has more than 2,000 employees and controls around 65 percent of the Russian market. Likewise, no other search engine in the world is growing faster. Google, which controls around 70 percent of the global market, is stagnating in Russia at a meager 22 percent.

Sixty million Russians now regularly surf online, an increase of 15 million over last year. For many, the Internet serves as a release valve, a place where members of this well-educated but overly controlled society can let off some steam. Likewise, nearly 50 percent of Internet users in Moscow have a blog, as do 7.5 million people throughout the country -- a figure nearly double what it was a year ago.

Since the Kremlin has brought almost all major television stations under its control over the last decade, and since newspapers and magazines have low circulations -- and are often owned by oligarchs with close ties to the government -- it has been left to the bloggers to exercise the checks-and-balances function traditionally performed by the media. Even tabloids such as the Komsomolskaya Pravda have praised bloggers as the "Fifth Estate."

Indeed, these days, it's usually bloggers -- rather than members of the traditional media -- who expose scandals and give voice to grievances. Blog reports by a student on conditions at a nursing home near Moscow, for example, led to the firing of its corrupt director. And, this spring, when a Mercedes belonging to a high-level manager at the oil giant Lukoil sped into a car in the opposite lane and killed two women, crime scene photographs published online exposed police attempts at a cover-up.

"Russia's bloggers are simply the most serious," says Brad Fitzpatrick, the American founder of LiveJournal, an online service that allows people to set up their own blogs. And there's no doubt that bloggers in Russia are more influential than they are anywhere else.

This degree of influence was one of the factors that led Adagamov -- whose online moniker is "Drugoi," or "the Other" -- to give up his comfortable life in Norway as the creative director of an advertising agency five years ago and move to Moscow. Still, it remains to be seen whether he will be able to work as freely here as he was able to in the past.

"President Medvedev isn't a bad guy," Adagamov says, "and I appreciate his openness." But he remains skeptical as to whether the president will ultimately succeed in pushing through his ideas about the Internet. As Adagamov sees it, "the Internet is the last free territory -- but it won't stay that way for long."

Russia's Anti-Internet-Freedom Crusader
One of Russia's sharpest-tongued opponents of online freedom is Robert Schlegel, who comes from an ethnic German family. Like Adagamov, Schlegel owns an iPad and writes a blog. But, unlike Adagamov, the 25 year old is not one of the "Others." Instead, he belongs to "Nashi" (literally "Ours"), a pro-Putin, Kremlin-controlled youth organization. Since leaving a position as a Nashi spokesman in 2007, Schlegel has served as a member of parliament for Putin's United Russia party. At the moment, he is working on a new Internet law that would introduce a type of electronic passport for every user, making the Internet as easy to control as the other forms of media that have been amenable to promoting government interests.

Schlegel dreams of someday becoming a minister. In the meantime, he gives instruction to young patriots as they film video clips for YouTube at Nashi's summer camp on Lake Seliger, halfway between Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Nashi members are notoriously fervent Putin admirers. Some time ago, the critical daily newspaper Kommersant even accused the group of having carried out cyber attacks that paralyzed its website.

Last year, Schlegel even suggested allowing newspapers to be shut down for "defamation" and lobbied for a strict limit on the proportion of foreign films shown in Russian movie theaters, in the belief that: "Many media sources abuse their freedoms."

Which Path Will Business Pursue?

Alexander Mamut, Russia's most powerful Internet oligarch, will have to take a stand somewhere between Adagamov and Schlegel, between the progressive blogger and the conservative Internet regulator. In 2007, Mamut -- whose wealth is estimated to be $1.5 billion, according to the American business magazine Forbes -- bought a majority share of LiveJournal. Nearly half of all Russian blogs operate on the blog-hosting site, including those of Adagamov and his adversary Schlegel.

The question, of course, is: Which side is Mamut on? The magnate, who refuses to grant interviews on political topics, will only say: "Russia needs to finally learn to cultivate its people instead of its raw materials."

This is a serious global issue and it highlights the agenda of the international globalists and the creation of their ruthless New World Order.

Quartzsite council meeting draws media attention

Quartzsite Mayor Ed Foster walked out of this morning's budget meeting, claiming it was an illegal meeting because town did not post the agenda 24 hours in advance. Quartzite and surrounding areas were without power the majority of the day yesterday. Evidently postings were made on bulletin boards but not on town website due to power outage.
Meeting was officiated by Vice Mayor Barbara Cowell. Council voted to hold a meeting on the budget in a week and allow public to review the proposed budget. There was a strong Media present at the very short meeting. No arrests were made.

I was going to give this speech today but now I will not be able to. The world needs to see this. Please feel free to pass this along to others.

Good evening, my name is Hal Davidson former Councilman of Quartzsite Arizona. I hope I am allowed to give this speech without being arrested. Everyone on this Council has swore an oath to preserve protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, by voting to declare a state of emergency or Martial Law, they have, (in my opinion) violated that oath and should step down from office. Of course they will not, because ” by their actions” they have shown that they do not believe in free speech of the rights of individuals. MEDIA DESCENDS ON QUARTZSITE

Those that came to Quartzsite today to see the strange methodology utilized by the council were not disappointed. There were no surprises, though, the council conducted their 'illegal meeting' as thought it were legitimate.

"I wonder who it is they think they've fooled," Foster said.

Foster further charged in an interview on popular talk show INFOWARS.COM that he has been reading the e-mails sent to the council and other officials and that they were all legitimate efforts to communicate with the town and its representatives. "There were no threats," Foster stated.

The meeting today brought reporters from throughout the area and there was a strong police presence -- apparently due to the allegation that the town has been receiving threats. This, too, was the justification used to declare a 'State of Emergency' to remove Foster from his position of athority as Mayor.

In a shocking cover article, the July 4th issue of Time Magazine presents the story of the United States Constitution, and makes the claim that it is outdated and unnessacary. The writer presents the fact that the United States constitution has indeed been under attack and undermined since its creation, however fails to admit that his own article is another wound to the integrity of the United States Constitution. The truth of the matter is the United States is facing a constitutional crisis in its modern history. The office of presidency has overshadowed its traditional constitutional role, overstepping checks and balances in the legitimate political structure, ignoring Congress and ignoring the public. Decades of Presidential Executive Orders have overturned the key principals set in law in the United States Constitution and its approved amendments. A shadow military industrial complex government has formed, just as former President John F Kennedy had warned the people about prior to his untimely assassination.

The argument that the Constitution is no longer needed simply because, as the article implies, "the founding fathers did not foresee our current events", is a false argument about the vital need for a strong Constitutional document. Any country and nation requires a solid Constitution in which to base it's laws and Government apon. In fact, the United States Constitution is the best founding document any country or nation could aspire to have. A system of solid checks and balances to insure lawful and peaceful government, private property rights, freedom of speech, independence and sovereignty, and a strong currency and economic system. These are all things any nation would aspire for, and they are all provided for under the United States Constitution.
The fact that Time Magazine would stoop to the low point of printing an article like this for the week of July 4th is in itself an attack on the founding of its own country. Independence Day is a day millions of Americans celebrate the many things that made America a great country. How sad it is to see this kind of journalism as this hit piece on the founding document of the United States.

The article tries to appeal to a younger generation, familiar with Facebook, Twitter, Google, texting, and so on, however fails to miss the fact that the so called "younger generation" is largely concerned with the future of the United States, and the rest of the world. In fact many youth are greatly concerned with the direction the globalist elite are taking the planet, and the tyranny that they are unleashing apon us. The truth is the tyranny of the New World Order is actively assaulting the youth, such as at the G20 meeting in Pittsburgh in 2009, where juiced up power tripping riot police went out of their way in the middle of the night to the local College and start beating on students, even making their way into the dorms. These students largely were not involved in protesting, and in fact where just hanging around on campus, eating and listening to music, things many young people do. With the young generation being connected to new social media, Facebook, Twitter and the like, the truth is reaching the masses of the so called "younger generation" in the interests of freedom and liberty.

2012 presidential candidate Ron Paul in fact has the support of many young people and older alike in the cause of freedom and liberty. As Ron Paul makes it clear, many in society, including the younger generation, is aware that the Constitution provides strong economic prosperity if only a truly Constitutional government was restored.

This Time hit piece will fail, and has already failed. It is a key example of how the mainstream media have become dieing dinosaurs who have lost all of their credibility. A viral video hit the internet just two weeks ago, where an shocking and interesting story is taking place. High level government corruption is being exposed in a small town in southern Arizona.

Being raised in North America, I've always thought that public officials and government acted professionally, were intellectually honest, aspired for truth, liberty, and running their town, city, and country in the best way possible. Sadly, I quickly learned this is absolutely not the case. And in Quartzsite, Arizona, this was recently highlighted. As I just stated, I always thought that a Mayor would be respected by council members, the public and even law enforcement officers. In fact, I've always thought that no intelligent citizen would ever want to cross with the Mayor. You would think that a Mayor would be able to fire anyone who he develops serious issues with. But to see a Police Chief and council members openly violate the orders of the Mayor in his official capacity while organizing and controlling a meeting in which the public was invited to ask council members questions is shocking, and displays just how corrupt the North American system is. In fact, this council member was in such a rush to remove this woman from speaking at the meeting that he insisted not only on asking the Police Chief to remove the woman from the room, even though the Mayor wanted her to speak, but to violate the proceedings of the meeting to vote on an item that was not in the agenda and could not be voted on at the time.

This shakedown on free speech across the United States from city and government officials exposes how corrupt to the core the country has become. Elected bureaucrats who despise the citizens, despise free speech, despise the United States Constitution, and who have sold them selves over to greed, corruption and evil. At this point, many of us citizens just feel like throwing our arms up and saying "ok you win already" "we know its not a fair system so why do we even try anymore". However, the truth is we can stand up to this nationwide corruption and declare that we are taxpaying citizens, we have our unalienable rights given to us through the Constitution, the Deceleration of Independence, the Charter of Rights, and the magna carta. Senate Bill S978 will criminalize most of the internet

A draconian new bill recently introduced to congress, S978, aims to declare any posting or embedding of material that infringes on copyright criminal. Any streaming or public showing of such material that has more then 10 views within a 180 day period, and which is valued to the copyright holder to be over $2,500, could result in jail time up to 5 years.

The shocking part of this bill is its vague and generic wording and its blatant attempt at shutting down any transmission of "copyrighted material". Gone is the creative commons, open source, citizens right to comment or archive any public source of "copyrighted material". It would seem at quick glance that the sponsors and lobbyists of this bill have a very flawed view of modern internet technology. The truth of the matter is that this is a targeted and thought out bill which is only one step towards the complete shakedown on public broadcasting of official "copyrighted" material. This anti-internet view is not shared by its sponsor, Amy Klobuchar, alone. Senator Jay Rockefeller recently stated this shocking anti-internet viewpoint, saying that he feels that it would be "better if the internet never existed".

The fact that many of the largest producers of copyrighted material, from video games to news clips, movies, music, books and more are large supporters of this anti-internet bill that seeks to put many people in jail for sharing such material with more then 10 people. The real truth of the matter is that the dieing mainstream machine is furious at the power of the internet, activists, and the citizens in the power of alternative media in exposing the coverups and lies rife through out the mainstream media. Citizen media are on the ground reporting on top stories, such as the yearly Bilderberg group meetings, held this year in St. Moritz Switzerland, exposing top bankers, corporate CEOs and top politicians meeting secretly to plan out their agenda for the next year. In fact, not only are these elite media and corporate executives meeting secretly, and carrying out a large media blackout on the event, many politicians that attend the Bilderberg meetings are breaking the laws of their various host countries, such as the United States Logan Act.

This, and other activities largely supported by the internet, have pushed the elite power structure to take a second look at the internet and its power, and forcefully restructure it under their terms and control, which will ultimately lead to the elimination of free speech on the internet.

The power of the internet and the citizens that use it can not be understated, especially in the matter of the S978 bill. This story has gathered much opposition around the world from serious gamers on Youtube and other social networking sites who rely on streaming video of gaming tournaments and skirmishes in thier hobby and industry. In fact, many video reviewers and other commentators even are sponsored on Youtube and are able to make an income for posting videos on social media that more then often features at least a small amount of "copyrighted" material.

Based on the ambiguity of this bill and its complete attack towards free speech on the internet, this bill likely will not pass. However, if the public is not vigilant, this wording could easily be snuck into another bill by these sneaky anti-internet creatures who are high ranking in the international power structure.
